Russia vs Ukraine: Military comparison 2022

What happens when Russia – the second most powerful country on Earth, goes on war with its neighboring country, Ukraine? Let’s find out by comparing the military strength of both these countries.

Ukraine, a country with a population of 41.48 million and a power index rank of 22, versus Russia, a country with a population of 146.17 million and number 2 on the power index rank.

Ukraine has active personnel of 2,55,000, and a reserve personnel of 2,50,000, whereas, Russia has active personnel of 1 million, and reserve personnel of 2 million. Both the country’s military expenditure also varies by large numbers. Ukraine spends $5.4 Billion (i.e., 3% of its total GDP). Russia spends around $61.7 billion (i.e., 4.3% of its GDP).

Moving on to military equipment, Ukraine has around 2,105 tanks, in which 1,300 are T64. Russia having 12,270 tanks, ranks number 1 in the world, with almost half of them are T72, T72A and T72B type tanks. In terms of armored fighting vehicles, Ukraine has around 6,990 vehicles, and Russia has around 26,831 AFV’s. Total artilleries of Ukraine sum up to 1,047, consisting 630 rocket artilleries. On the other hand, Russia has a total artillery of around 6,532 including 4,359 rocket artilleries.

Moving on to the air strength of both these countries, Russia clearly dominates the sky with total aircraft of 5,532, whereas Ukraine’s total aircraft sums up to 326. Ukraine’s 70 fighter aircraft comprises mostly of Sukhoi Su-27 and Mikoyan MiG-29. Russia, on the other hand, has 792 with Sukhoi Su-27 and Mikoyan MiG-31 mostly in its fleet. Ukraine has 29 attack aircrafts, 129 helicopters with 34 attack helicopters. Russia has 880 attack aircrafts, 1,724 helicopters with 544 attack helicopters. 

With Russia’s total naval assets of 664, including 1 aircraft carrier, 18 destroyers, 11 Frigates, 83 Corvettes and 64 Submarines versus Ukraine’s 1 Frigate and 1 Corvette, Russia clearly overpowers Ukraine in naval power.

If a war arises between Ukraine and Russia, Russia will definitely overpower Ukraine, unless Ukraine is backed by its allies.

An oil production ship, capable of storing 2 million barrels of oil, exploded off the coast of Nigeria. A Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel, called the Trinity Spirit , exploded at the Ukpokiti oil field, off Nigeria’s coast.  This was confirmed by the owner of SEPCOL, that a fire engulfed the FPSO Trinity Spirit during the early hours of 2nd of February 2022. Helena Modrzejewska , (also known professionally as Helena Modjeska). She has portrayed nearly 300 different roles in over 6,000 plays, both in Polish and English.  Helena Modrzejewska, was born as Jadwiga Benda, on 12 October, 1840, in Krakow, Poland, and was soon renamed, Helena Opid. She made her theatrical debut in 1861, in a one-act comedy, “The White Camellia,” performing under the stage name, Modrzejewska.  In 1877, she debuted in America. Renowned for Shakespearean roles, she livened up theater productions across America, sometimes touring for up to 30 weeks while performing 8 to 9 productions each week.  She toured not just as a lead actor but also as a director, producer, costume designer, and publicist!     Modrzejewska’s longest-lasting role was Lady Macbeth, which she played 520 times.  Happy birthday, Helena Modrzejewska!

'Eye of fire' on the Gulf of Mexico after gas leak in underwater pipeline belonging to the Ku-Maloob-Zaap Video sources: twitter.com/MLopezSanMartin twitter.com/MLopezSanMartin Pemex statement www.pemex.com Pemex, Mexico's state-owned oil company, said on Friday, it suffered a rupture in an undersea gas pipeline, in the Gulf of Mexico, sending flames boiling to the surface in the Gulf waters.  The flames resembled molten lava, and were dubbed, “eye of fire”, on several social media platforms.  According to Pemex, there was a gas leak in the 12-inch submarine pipeline, 150 meters from the KU-C satellite platform,  belonging to the Ku-Maloob-Zaap Production Asset.  It took more than five hours to completely put off the fire, and no injuries were reported. Petróleos Mexicanos stated that, it will carry out a root cause analysis of this incident.
